SICILY. Syracuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 16.80 g, 4 h), circa 310-306/5. KOPAΣ Head of Kore to right, wearing wreath of grain ears, single-pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. A[ΓAΘOKΛEO]Σ Nike, bare to waist, standing right, about to attach a helmet to a trophy, holding a hammer in her right hand and a nail in her left; in field to right, triskeles running left. HGC 2, 1536. Ierardi 116 (O26/R74). SNG ANS 762. SNG Delepierre 705 (same dies). Attractively toned and of fine style. Slightly rough and with a few light marks, otherwise, about extremely fine.
